I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas season and took some time to celebrate the holidays. By now, you’re most likely looking forward to the brighter skies of springtime as much as I am, although I find there is a sense of deep solitude in January that no other month gives me. Only in the long grey stretch of midwinter can I hibernate in the quietness, as I recharge after the hustle and bustle of December.
That being said, NEW projects are in the making at Pippin’s Press. Can I get a drumroll roll, please? Milly’s next story is FINALLY finished!
Yes, that’s right, you read it correctly. You’ve been waiting for the continuation of Milly The Naughty Pony storybook series, so I lit a match under my derriere and started writing the next story. After some brainstorming, rewrites, and a little inspiration, it all came together. The upcoming book is called Milly Goes Western. It’s all about the shenanigans of Milly and Chip the goat at the Daisy Bell Country Fair. Milly gets ready to showcase her Western-style pizzazz in the show ring, while Chip wanders off and meets the most bizarre-looking flock of sheep. He then finds himself entered into a tournament of the most unlikely sort. And for Milly, well… things don’t go as planned right out of the gate.
Illustrations and book design begin next month. It will be the same size and length as the first storybook, Milly The Naughty Pony. You can expect colourful paintings of curious animals and lots of detail. Milly Goes Western will be out later this year. I’ll keep you posted on its progress.
